Dr. William F. Schultz, the former director of Amnesty International USA and a former president of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations. As Director of Amnesty International USA he traveled to Darfur, Sudan, to help redress the humanitarian crisis in that region. He led an Amnesty mission to Liberia as well, to investigate the atrocities committed during the civil war there and in 1999 went again to Northern Ireland to help insure that human rights protections be incorporated in to the peace process there.
